Ogdensburg police are warning residents of an apparent telephone scam.
Police were notified Tuesday at 2:40 p.m. that a male with a heavy accent called a resident and told him that your computer is very important even though the resident had no computer. The caller hung up. The source of the call was identified as 202-011-3341 in the District of Columbia.
Police urge everyone never to give out personal information over the phone if unsure of the caller and to report all suspicious calls by notifying them at 393-1551.
