POTSDAM Curtis Pierce converted a 3-point play with two seconds left in overtime to give the SUNY Potsdam mens basketball team a 68-66 nonconference victory over St. Lawrence University on Tuesday night in Maxcy Hall.
With the Bears trailing 66-65, Pierce made a layup with two seconds left and was fouled by SLUs Brandon Rivera. He then added the free throw to close out the scoring. SUNY Potsdam (2-4) sent the game into overtime when Josh Lambert scored on a layup with 45 seconds left in regulation.
Mark Lake Jr. finished with 19 points to lead the Bears. Pierce scored 12 points and Rob Duquette added 10.
Janpeter Brase led SLU (2-4) with 14 points and 16 rebounds, Kyle Miller scored 12 points and Payton Stahler added 11 for the Saints.
CLARKSON 93, PAUL SMITHS 70
John Coleman scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Jerry Coleman scored 18 points as the Golden Knights (5-1) defeated the Bobcats in a nonconference game in Potsdam.
Marques Charlton scored 16 points and Nate Uline added 14 for Clarkson.
Alex Medina scored 22 points to pace Paul Smiths (2-8). Devin Carr scored 16 points and Shiva Senthil added 13. Adam Klock scored 11 for Paul Smiths.

Katie Zimmerman tallied three goals as Hamilton (5-2) knocked off the Bears in a nonconference game in Clinton.
Hamilton outshot the Bears 44-10. Nikki Haskins provided one goal and one assist.
Izzy Fayerman and Sally Mooney scored for the Bears (2-8).
