Forty Jefferson County kids were taken on a shopping spree Saturday, courtesy of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and donations from organizations and agencies.

The annual Shop with a Cop program gave each child a $200 shopping card at Walmart Supercenter on Arsenal Street.

The kids were driven to the store from the Metro-Jeff Public Safety Building by deputies, who then escorted the kids around the store.
