A Chaumont man was charged by state police Monday with stealing from a co-worker at Walmart Supercenter, outer Arsenal Street.

Brandon R. Diaz, 30, of 12007 Route 12E, faces charges of petit larceny and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Both charges are misdemeanors.

He is accused of stealing a Kindle Fire tablet from Barbara Haynes, Richland, at the store, police said. The theft was reported Monday morning.
