Port Leyden: Stephanie Meus Millick, 98, widow of Michael Millick, passed away at her home at 7036 West Main St. Monday afternoon, Dec. 10, 2012 after a long illness.

She was born Jan. 1, 1914 in Chicago, Ill, the daughter of Stanley and Catherine Potkiewicz Meus and attended school in the town of Western. She was a homemaker and had been employed early in her life at the Port Leyden Knitting Mill and during World War II at Rome Mfg. Co. retiring in 1950.

She married Michael Millick of Port Leyden Oct. 26, 1935 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Boonville with Father Michael McNeil, officiating. Mr. Millick died Nov. 29, 2000.

She was a communicant of St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Port Leyden and a former member of St. Martin’s Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are one son and his wife Michael and Candice of Tucson. Az; three grandchildren Marie and Victoria of Tucson, Az and Joseph USMC, stationed in Japan and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law Jesse (Jay) and Leon Osuchowski, of Mattydale and a sister-in-law Lillian Meus of Rome. Three sisters Stella DesChambeau, Jennie Nowiski, Helen Millick Chaufty and three brothers Walter, Frank and John died before her.

The funeral will be at 12 Noon Saturday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Port Leyden with Rev. Lawrence Marullo, pastor officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in St. Martin’s Church Hall. Burial will be in the spring in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls.

Calling hours will be private.

The family requests no flowers and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Martin’s Altar and Rosary Society, PO Box 431, Port Leyden.

The Callaghan Funeral Home LLC Port Leyden is entrusted with the arrangements.
