Ruby C. Charlene Williams, 44, a fugitive in the state of Florida since 2006, was arrested by Jefferson County sheriffs deputies Thursday evening in the town of LeRay.
She was wanted for violating probation involving convictions for third-degree grand theft and distributing a forged instrument in 2005. She pleaded no contest to those charges and received a sentence of 18 months of probation, according to St. Johns County court documents.
Deputies said she was arrested without incident but no further information was available Thursday night.
Ms. Williams, chief financial officer for the Fort Drum Vehicle Storage in Watertown, was the highest bidder for the 753 Rear W. Main St. warehouse that her employers lost after failing to pay back taxes. But she never appeared for the Nov. 27 closing and lost her $12,500 deposit for the property.
She and her husband, Michael, were recently evicted from a rental property at 223 LeRay St., Black River.
