Three men and two women were arrested during a drug raid conducted by the Metro-Jeff Drug Task Force at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday in an apartment at 324 Stone St.
Police said about 1½ ounces of crack and powder cocaine with a street value of about $4,500 was seized in the raid. Some of the substances were packaged for sale, police said.
Charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell:
■ Adam R. Snyder, 29, of the raided Apt. 2.
■ Angel L. McCabe, 25, same address.
■ Shawna L. Wilson, 34, same address.
■ Joshua A. Thurston, 23, same address, who faces two counts of the charge.
■ Travis U. Minor, 25, Theresa.
They were arraigned before Watertown City Court Judge Eugene R. Renzi and sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. Bail was set at $15,000 each for Mr. Snyder and Mr. Thurston and at $10,000 each for the other three.
City police and Jefferson County Sheriffs Department entry teams assisted in the raid. Also seized was $1,450 in cash, police said.
Mr. Thurston is the only one of the five who has had a narcotics-related conviction. In August 2007, when he was 18, he pleaded guilty in Jefferson County Court to fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, cocaine. In an unrelated case, he was sentenced in May 2011 to three years probation for petit larceny, also in County Court, involving a theft from a residence.
