The death Monday of a 4-year-old Fort Drum boy apparently occurred in Samaritan Medical Center following an emergency ambulance run, the Army disclosed Thursday.
The childs death is being investigated by the Armys Criminal Investigation Division.
Christopher P. Grey, spokesman for the Army Criminal Investigation Command, Quantico, Va., disclosed Thursday that the child was rushed to the hospital via ambulance from on-post quarters and subsequently perished at a local hospital.
His statement does not acknowledge that the victim was as boy, as indicated to the Times on Wednesday by an independent source.
