The Jefferson County Sheriffs Department on Thursday issued an alert for a 17-year-old girl who has been missing since Nov. 21.
Janice A. Guadalupe is believed to be a runaway, and authorities and family are concerned for her safety, a department press release stated.
She was last seen about 12:15 a.m. Nov. 21 on Depot Street in Natural Bridge, although her last known contact was in Watertown, said Detective Judy G. Goodman. She may still be in the county, but there have been reports that she may have been in Auburn, Savannah or Syracuse, the detective said.
Miss Guadalupe is about 5-foot-4, weighs about 120 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes. She may be wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, green shirt and jeans, and may have black slippers. She lived in Carthage and was in a foster-care home under the supervision of the Jefferson County Department of Social Services, the detective said.
Anyone with possible information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriffs Department at 788-1441 and make reference to file number 12SO20359.
