HENDERSON — Michael C. McGivney, 25, of 2965 Stony Point Lane, was charged Sunday morning with obstructing governmental administration and driving at a speed not reasonable or prudent in connection with an accident investigation conducted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies said he denied that he was the driver of a pickup registered to Ivan W. Growe, Baldwinsville, which at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday went off Lighthouse Road in the town of Henderson and overturned, striking a fence post and electric fence. He was unable to provide a name for the person he claimed was driving, deputies said.

The truck is being sold to his father, Robert McGivney, according to the sheriff’s office.
