LOWVILLE- LeWayne J. Widrick, 69, of Artz Road, Lowville, died Sunday afternoon, December 16, 2012 at his home.
Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Croghan Mennonite Cemetery with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Naumburg Mennonite Church. Contributions may be made to the Naumburg Mennonite Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 124, Castorland, NY 13620 or a charity of ones choice.
He is survived by a brother, Edsel I. Widrick of Oakland, CA and several cousins. A sister, Charlene A. Widrick died on October 21, 2010.
LeWayne was born on March 22, 1943 in Lowville, NY, a son of the late Irving and Savilla Zehr Widrick and attended a one room schoolhouse in the Town of New Bremen and Lowville Academy. He enjoyed making leather crafts and woodworking, and made many wooden wishing wells and walking canes. LeWayne was involved with the American Maple Museum in Croghan and was well known for his maple butter and sugar cakes.
LeWayne was a member of the Naumburg Mennonite Church.
