There will be no calling hours or funeral services for 66 year old Mrs. Sharon M. Farns of Parishville. Mrs. Farns died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 with her family at her side.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Thomas Farns of Hopkinton, a daughter Cheri G. Hollenbeck of Hopkinton, 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne, James and Travis Hollenbeck and 3 sisters Verona Whipple in North Carolina, Audrey Lindsey in Hanawa Falls and Annette Simonds in Norwich, NY.

Sharon was born in Potsdam, NY on May 22, 1946, the daughter of the late Vernon and Grace Simonds. She graduated from Parishville-Hopkinton Central Schol as well as from Business School in Ogdensburg. Sharon went on to work for the St. Lawrence Gas Company and Ames before retiring from the Bursars Office at SUNY Potsdam in 2008.

Sharon was quite an exceptional cook, she loved plants, gardening and had quite a green thumb. She was also known to make a trip to the casino once in a while. But most of all she dearly loved her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by her family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, 6805 US HWY 11, Potsdam, NY 13673-3131.

Arrangements are with the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam.
