John C. Forney, 21, of 35220 Carpenter Road, Antwerp, was being held Saturday under $15,000 bail in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building as a result of his second arrest in a month on felony criminal contempt charges.
Bail was set by Theresa Town Justice Roger Duvall.
State police arrested Mr. Forney at 10:50 p.m. Friday on Commercial Street, Theresa, on the class D felony of aggravated criminal contempt, and a misdemeanor count of aggravated harassment. He is charged in a complaint filed by Elizabeth Davenport, 22, Theresa, at about 10 p.m. Friday, police said. Details of her allegations were not available.
Mr. Forney still has prosecution pending on charges lodged Nov. 20 in the town of Philadelphia, also on Ms. Davenports complaint. The pending charges are first-degree criminal contempt, a class E felony, harassment, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child.
The more serious felony of aggravated criminal contempt is charged when either the accused person has been convicted of criminal contempt, or injury was caused to the party who holds an order of protection against the accused person.
Mr. Forney is serving a sentence of three years probation given him in November 2011 in Jefferson County Court for two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.
