Carthage man tased, jailed

WEST CARTHAGE — A Jefferson County deputy sheriff used his taser Friday night to subdue a man who was allegedly resisting arrest on Bridge Street.

Andrew P. Robinson, 27, of 23081 Alexandria St., Apt. A-1, Carthage, was arrested shortly before 7:30 p.m. on charges of harassment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Village Justice Delmar R. House set bail at $500, sending him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown.

Deputy Shawn M. Ryan said Mr. Robinson was cited with disorderly conduct because he walked into the eastbound lane of Bridge Street, forcing motorists to stop and swerve around him. When the deputy attempted to arrest him, he said, Mr. Robinson punched him in the chest and continued to fight him until the taser was applied.
