■ Devonte D. Whiting, 27, a former Watertown man imprisoned in Jackson, Mich., received permission Friday from Jefferson County Judge Kim H. Martusewicz for a non-jury trial Jan. 5 on allegations that he tried to injure a city patrolman by pushing him into traffic in September 2009 in Public Square.
