GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur woman was jailed Christmas Eve after a fight with her boyfriend allegedly turned violent.

State police said Pamela A. McCormick, 45, of 6611 Route 58, punched her live-in boyfriend in the head, breaking the skin and bruising him. Troopers declined to identify the victim.

Ms. McCormick was charged with third-degree attempted assault at 10:15 p.m.

She was arraigned in Rossie Town Court and ordered held in the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $600 bail. She is to reappear in Macomb Town Court.
