Deferiet, NY Juanita M. (Nita) Bowman of Bare Foot Bay, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Nursing Care by Angels Assisted Living Facility in Palm Bay, Florida where she had been a patient since March 2011.
Juanita was born on February 26, 1930, in Bombay, NY, the daughter of Bernice Francey and James Love. She graduated from Bombay High School in 1947 and the Watertown School of Commerce in 1949.
She married Roswell Bowman on April 18, 1953 at St. James Catholic Church in Carthage. The couple lived in Carthage for a short time and moved to Deferiet in 1961 where they resided until moving to Bare Foot Bay, Florida in 1994. They spent their summer months at their cottage on Lake Bonaparte until 2006.
Over the course of her career, Nita had worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC; The NY Air Brake Company in Watertown and completed a 28 year career with the Federal Government (Fort Drum) as Property Book Officer and Chief of the Supply Office. She retired on February 23, 1990.
She is survived by her husband Roswell of Bare Foot Bay, FL, two sons, David (Mary) of Clayton and Robert (Michelle) of Beaver Falls. Nita has six grandchildren; Bryanne of Hamilton, Colby of Massena, Keegan of Beaver Falls, Mark of Arlington, VA, Brian of Rochester, and Daniel of Clayton.
She has three siblings; Daryl Love of Bath, Sandra Love of Moira and Blaine Love of Sneads Ferry, NC.
There will be no calling hours. Internment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Evans Mills, NY at the convenience of the family. Local arrangements are with the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home, Carthage. To leave a condolence, go to www.bezanillafh.com.
