Danville sweeps series from Thousand Islands


Ryan Huggett scored a goal and assisted on two others as the Danville Dashers held off the Thousand Islands Privateers, 6-5 on Saturday night in a Federal Hockey League game at Watertown Municipal Arena.

David Lun tallied the deciding goal 11 minutes, eight seconds into the third period for Danville (10-19), which swept a two-game set with Thousand Islands (14-12).

Adam McAllister and Peter Campbell each scored power-play goals in the third period with Campbell drawing the Privateers within a goal at 15:22, but Thousand Islands would get no closer.

McAllister scored twice for the Privateers, and Campbell and Brent Tamane each contributed a goal and two assists.

Matt Anthony finished with 27 saves for Thousand Islands.

Justin Sand stopped 43 of 48 shots faced for Danville.

The Privateers will host the Williamsport Outlaws at 7:35 tonight.
