Demitrius M. Williams, 20, of 22457 Eacho Drive, town of Watertown, was charged by state police Monday afternoon with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Troopers said Mr. Williams grabbed his wife, Latra Williams, shoved her and choked her. He then drove away from the residence without a valid license and with a 1-year-old as a passenger, troopers said.

He was turned over to military police, troopers said.
