Rensselaer Falls falls man faces criminal-mischief charge

DEKALB — A Rensselaer Falls man faces criminal-mischief charges in connection with a New Year’s Day domestic disturbance in the town of DeKalb.

Casey J. Spiak, 22, was arrested by state police at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with one count of third-degree criminal mischief involving property damage greater than $250, a Class E felony. He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and second-degree harassment involving physical contact.

State police said Mr. Spiak damaged two doors during a domestic incident. No injuries were reported.

Mr. Spiak also was found to be in possession of a marijuana pipe, troopers said.

State police did not release Mr. Spiak’s address nor the address where the alleged incident occurred.

Officials at St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, confirmed Wednesday that Mr. Spiak was being held at the facility in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.
