Lowville woman injured when vehicle hits spreader

COPENHAGEN — A Lowville woman was injured when the vehicle she was riding in hit a manure spreader at 6:30 p.m. Monday on Route 12 in the town of Harrisburg.

Lewis County sheriff’s deputies said Daniel Moshier, 34, Copenhagen, was turning in to a driveway with a John Deere tractor towing a spreader when it was hit from behind by a vehicle being driven by Jeffrey Ward, 41, Lowville.

A passenger in the vehicle, Marcy Ward, 35, Lowville, complained of unspecified pain and was taken by Lewis County Search and Rescue to Lewis County General Hospital, Lowville, for treatment.

A third vehicle, driven by Tiffany Peters, 31, Glenfield, also was damaged when it drove through the debris, deputies said.

Copenhagen firefighters assisted at the scene.
