NORFOLK — Marvin L. Ward, 36, of 1425 Route 420, was charged by state police at 5:45 p.m. Monday with assault, harassment and acting in a manner injurious to a child.

Mr. Ward allegedly struck his 10-year-old daughter twice in the face when she repeatedly asked him the same question.

He was taken to St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $5,000 bail.
