PORT LEYDEN — A Port Leyden man was accused Wednesday of choking his girlfriend.

Lewis County sheriff’s deputies charged Brett Golden, 22, with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, fourth-degree criminal mischief, endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of second-degree harassment. He was arraigned in Leyden Town Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear in court at a later date.

The charges stemmed from an alleged domestic dispute between Mr. Golden and his girlfriend, whom deputies did not name.
