Bertha Baxter Hale, age 91 of Knapps Station, NY, died December 31,2012 at her home in Pottstown Pennsylvania with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Bertha was born in Knapps Station on June 20,1921, the daughter of Osie and Alice Baxter. She was the wife of the late Lloyd W. Hale of Norfork, NY. She was the sister of the late Bernard(Bunk)Baxter, Warren (Snooks)Baxter, Marcil(Chub)Baxter, Benjamin Baxter, Bernice Baxter, and Beula Peck. Bertha was the Mother of the late John S. Hale.

Bertha is survived by four daughters, Harriet A.Hale of Pottstown, PA., Nancy E. Hale of Plano Texas, Margaret L. Knowles of Palmetto Florida and Ellen M. LaPlante of PortHuron, Michigan.Bertha is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held for Bertha at her home in Pennsylvania with her immediate family.Final resting place will be in the Hale’s Cemetery in Norfork, New York in the Spring.Officiating will be Pastor Lee Sweeny of the Knapps Station Community Church.
