TROY William T. Kehoe, 71, died suddenly Saturday, January 05, 2013 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Carthage, N.Y., he was the son of the late Leo and Mildred Kehoe. He graduated from Watertown High School and attended Onondaga Community College, after which he joined the U.S. Army. Following in his fathers footsteps, he was a locomotive engineer for the New York Central and Penn Central railroads until an injury forced his early retirement. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen, for which he served as St. Lawrence Division local chairman for many years. During his railroading years he lived in Watertown and Oswego, and after retirement moved to Troy in 1987. Mr. Kehoe owned and operated self-service laundries in Albany and Troy. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Pauls Catholic Church, Troy, and more recently St. Anthonys. He loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking and an occasional trip to the casino.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Myron, infant sister Mary Josephine, brother and good pal Kevin who passed away in December, and son Floyd Patterson.
William is survived by his loving companion of 32 years, Delores Patterson; his children William, Jr., Brooksville, FL; Charlotte Nasworthy, Tampa, FL; Kelley (Rob) Sanemeterio, Brandon, FL.; Colleen Palmquist, Colonial Heights, VA; Tracy Davis, Clifton Park; Judi Kehoe, Apollo Beach, FL; Michelle (Peter) Sefcik, Clifton Park; Lisa (Billy) Barlow, Oswego; and Wayne Patterson, Troy; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grand children; his brothers and sisters; L. Paul (Betty) Sodus; Joan, Albany; Sharon, Brockport; Peter, Troy; Dennis (Karen), Newark, N.Y.; Korleen (Ray) Gould, Watertown; sisters-in-law, Shirley Kehoe, Watertown; Luann Kehoe, Oswego; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy and at 11 a.m., at St. Anthonys Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mario Julian OFM pastor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4- 8 pm. Interment will be held on Thursday at St. Peters Cemetery, Oswego.
