Watertown- Elsa M. Booth, 96, 218 Stone Street and formerly of South Pleasant Street, passed away Sunday morning at Mercy of Northern New York where she had resided for the past 4 months.

Elsa was born November 13, 1916, a daughter of Harold A. “Dick” and Flora Heinrich Bern. She graduated high school from Rome Free Academy. She married Harley S. Booth on November 1, 1941. Mr. Booth passed away on April 10, 1990.

Elsa worked for many years as an Avon Representative. She was an active member of Stone Street and Stone Presbyterian Church serving on the Board of Trustees, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Allan) Ferguson, Homer; her son, Harley “Lee” (Alice) Booth, Pierrepont Manor; 2 grandchildren, Alesa (Robert) Rich, Evans Mills, Adam Ferguson and partner Cyrus Hamilton, Cortland; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 12, 1:00 pm at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Smith officiating. There are no calling hours. Spring burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Memorial Fund of Stone Presbyterian Church, 140 Chestnut Street, Watertown, New York 13601.
