Richard (Pewee) Edwards


Funeral Services for Richard (Pewee) Edwards, age 66, of 506 Pine Street will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Frary Funeral Home. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, the night of calling hours, at Frary Funeral Home.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Cherie; his two children, a son, Todd, and his companion Vickie Danielewicz and his daughter, Jennifer, and her companion Tom Vescio both of Fulton, NY; one sister, Jane Edwards of Syracuse, NY; a grandson, Dominic Vescio and his mother-in-law, Marie Montana. He is also survived by many aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one sister, Ann (Susie) Perrine and two brothers, Gary and Glen.

Richard Edwards was born in Ogdensburg, NY on June 22, 1946, the son of Richard and Elaine Adams Edwards. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy. He married Cherie Montana on December 30, 1966 at Notre Dame Church with Monsignor A.D. Charbonneau officiating. He worked construction all of his life out of Local #322 in Massena.

He was a member of the Moose Club, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing and going on his motor scooter.

Donations may be made in his memory to the Notre Dame Heritage Fund.
