Watertown- Doris A. Paro, 64, Duffy St., completed her life’s journey with family and friends, Wednesday morning, January 9th, at her home.

The funeral will be 3 pm Friday, January 11th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Ryan of the Watertown Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 1 pm - 3 pm prior to the funeral. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.

Doris was born in Watertown, November 18, 1948, a daughter of Roy H. and Jennie Kelley Burdick. Doris was a Head Start Teacher at the Community Action Planning Council, working with special needs children for over 20 years, retiring due to ill health.

She enjoyed camping, bird watching, reading, crossword puzzles and had a passion for animals especially her pets.

Doris is survived by a daughter Dori Janack, Watertown. Three sons, Edmund Janack, Jr., Watertown; Richard Switzer III, Dexter; Travis Paro, Watertown. Her grandchildren, Tyler and Austin Drappo, Nicholas Janack and Micah Switzer. Two brothers Donald Thomas, Watertown and Ray Burdick, Calcium. A sister Joyce Drew, Belton Texas. Nieces, nephews and many foster children that she raised over the years. Two brothers Lowell Thomas and Roy Burdick, Jr. predeceased her.
