MASSENA — A Massena man faces charges after he allegedly tried to photograph a teenage girl through the bathroom window of her North Lawrence home.

Eric J. Deshane, 19, of 733 Route 37C, was arrested Thursday after he stood outside the Brooklyn Road residence Wednesday night attempting to take pictures with his cellphone as the 15-year-old girl stepped out of the shower, state police said.

He was charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance, a class E felony, as well as second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. He admitted under questioning to having had an inappropriate sexual relationship with the girl in 2011, when he was 17 and she was 13, troopers said.

He was arraigned in Brasher Town Court and is to appear in Lawrence Town Court to answer the charges.
