DEKALB JUNCTION The Heuvelton girls basketball team relied on a strong third quarter to defeat Hermon-DeKalb, 54-47, in an Northern Athletic Conference West Division on Thursday night.
Heuvelton (8-3 overall, 6-2 division) was behind by five points at halftime, but outscored the Demons 19-7 in the third quarter to take a 36-29 lead it would never relinquish.
Logan Tallman led the Bulldogs with 19 points, including 15 that came on 3-point baskets.
Maddie St. Pierre scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Alexis Weider added 15 points.
Bridget Rust led the Demons (4-4, 3-4) with 12 points, and Courtney Harrington scored 11 for the Demons.
CLIFTON-FINE 63, LISBON 45
Morgan Skeldon generated a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds and blocked five shots to lead the Eagles (7-3, 5-3) past Lisbon in a West Division contest in Star Lake.
Hunter Hitchman tallied 18 points with four assists and four steals for the Eagles.
Jackie Sovie led Lisbon (5-6, 3-5) with 13 points and Beth Crowley tossed in 10.
HAMMOND 67, MORRISTOWN 17
Alyssa Crosby scored 17 points to send the Red Devils past Morristown (0-10, 0-8) in a West Division game in Hammond.
Emily Bush scored 12 points, Mikayla Horton added 11 and Courtney Bova scored 10 for Hammond (9-1, 7-0).
HARRISVILLE 37, EDWARDS-KNOX 22
Kathleen Coloney scored 16 points to send the Pirates (6-4, 5-2) past Edwards-Knox in a West Division game in Russell.
Georgie Baker scored nine for Harrisville and Chelsea Pierce tossed in eight.
Jadilyn Bullock and Katie Smith each scored six for the Cougars (1-8, 1-6).
CHATEAUGAY 35, TUPPER LAKE 25
Courtney Boyea scored 11 points to lead Chateaugay past the Lumberjacks (7-4, 5-2) in an interdivision game in Tupper Lake.
Makayla Fleury added 10 points for the Bulldogs (5-1, 5-0).
Katie Stuart led Tupper Lake with 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots.
BRUSHTON-MOIRA 34, COLTON-PIERREPONT 12
Brushton-Moira ended the game on a 28-5 run to beat the Colts (3-7, 2-3) in an interdivision game in Colton.
Danielle Trimm and Jenna Dufrane led the Panthers (3-5, 3-4) with six points apiece.
CANTON 53, SALMON RIVER 45
The Golden Bears (8-1, 6-1) used a 14-3 run in the third quarter to pull away from Salmon River in a Central Division game in Fort Covington.
Canton had just a one-point lead at halftime.
Emma Rexford led the Golden Bears with 32 points. Abby Kelly and Kwio King each scored 14 for the Shamrocks (8-3, 3-3).
MALONE 63, POTSDAM 35
Rachel Lamica scored 19 points to lead the Huskies (9-4, 4-3) past Potsdam in a Central Division game in Malone.
Jenelle Heden tallied 17 and Morgan Fountain added 15 points for the Huskies. Shanielle Chambers paced Potsdam (2-7, 1-6) with 12 points.
MADRID-WADDINGTON 46, GOUVERNEUR 33
Olivie Parmeter tallied 14 points to send the Yellow Jackets (8-1) past Gouverneur in a nonleague contest in Madrid.
Tessa Knights scored 10 points with five steals for Madrid-Waddington.
Kirstin Roberts led Gouverneur (2-9) with nine points.
