ADAMS Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Wratten, 9181 Route 11, observed their 25th wedding anniversary Wednesday and will celebrate with family and friends in June.
Mr. Wratten, son of the late Algernon E. and Lois Crosbie Wratten, and Anna Belle Hyde, daughter of the late Albert Fishe and Rachel Wheeler Hyde, were married Jan. 9, 1988, at Adams United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dean Hill officiating. Honor attendants were Wendell Berry, Rodman, and Julie A. Byrne, Hickory, N.C.
Mr. Wratten graduated in 1969 from South Jefferson Central School and in 1971 from Syracuse University, with a degree in electronics. From 1973 to 1978, he was employed by Wratten Trailer Sales. From 1978 to 2012, he was part owner of Wratten Trailer Sales LLC, and recently became sole owner. Mr. Wratten enjoys golfing and hunting. He is a 40-year member of Adams Fire Department, in which he served as fire chief for six years, is fire corporation vice president and treasurer and has been a Jefferson County fire investigator for 22 years.
Mrs. Wratten graduated in 1982 From South Jefferson Central School, in 1985 from Jefferson Community College, Watertown, with a degree in nursing, math and science, in 1987 from SUNY Institute of Technology, Utica, with a bachelors degree in nursing and in 1995 from the Community General Hospital, Syracuse, nurse practitioner program. She is a nurse practitioner for school-based health centers at H.T. Wiley School and Case Middle School, Watertown, and has worked at the North Country Childrens Clinic for 20 years. Mrs. Wratten enjoys golfing and paper crafting. She is a 20-year member of Adams Fire Department Auxiliary, of which she is the membership secretary and a past president.
The couple has three sons, Robert J. and James A.E., both of Adams, and William D.H., San Francisco, Calif.; a daughter, Tamara A. McConnell, Pulaski; and two grandchildren.
