MASSENA TOURNAMENT

Lancaster 5, Massena 1: At the Massena Arena, three power play goals in the second period helped propel Lancaster to the convincing win over the host Raiders.

“We fell behind and we weren’t able to regain our composure. We had an excellent first period and we did alright in the third but we need to play a complete game against a team like Lancaster,” noted coach Mike Trimboli.

Austin Gallagher opened the scoring when he finished off a play set up by Manny Manns and Bryan Kross with 38 seconds left in the first period. Lancaster went on to built a 4-0 lead through the first 10 minutes of the middle frame before Evan Kassian got the Raiders on the board with a goal set up by Dylan Stone and Ian Wilson with 2:58 left.

Gallagher sealed the win with his second of the game, a power play tally at 9:35 of the third period set up by Bill Delano and Kross.

Nick Mecca opened the scoring 37 seconds into the middle frame assisted by Dre Deblasiis. A power play goal by Jay Rutkowski off an assist by Jon Entelisano made it 2-0 at the 3:53 mark before Mason Bartell broke through for the first Potsdam goal with 6:20 left in the middle frame assisted by Keenan O’Gorman.

Rutkowski restored the two-goal lead 6:31 into the third period with an unassisted goal but Trevor Keleher pulled the Sandstoners back to 3-2 at 10:18. Keegan Richie sealed the win with an unassisted empty-net goal with 22 seconds left in regulation.
