MASSENA – Mr. John S. Favreau, 43, 12 Burney Ave, tragically passed away on Monday, January 14, 2013.

John was born October 11, 1969 in Massena, the son of the late Newman John and Joanne Perkins Favreau. John worked as a cook for the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino until becoming disabled. He also worked as a prep cook at Angelo’s Restaurant and Woody’s Store for a short time.

John truly enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling and was a member of the St. Lawrence County Snowmobiling Association and the Sons of the Amvets. He also enjoyed playing cards, doing games on the computer, spending time with his grandchildren, and family get-to-gethers at his home.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, who he married on December 31, 2008; his children, Preslee Favreau of Malone, Thomas and Nickie Donahur of Massena, Stacey and Toby McGee of Massena, Charles “Chucky” Donahue of Watertown, and Jason and Laurie Donahue of Bombay; his sisters, Gail and Joe LaValley of Syracuse, Cindy Parrotte and her fiancÚ, Dean Lawrence of Madrid, his brother, Tim and Lori Lalonde of Massena; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday 6-8 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held at 8:00 PM with his brother-in-law, Pastor Joe LaValley, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Amvets Post #4, The St. Lawrence County Underwater Recovery Team, Massena Rescue Dive Team, Hogansburg/Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department Water Recovery Team, Massena Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
