Carthage – G. Diane Frezza, 73, of 222 State St., died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown where she had been a patient for a week.

Diane was born in Carthage on October 15, 1939, the daughter of the late John L. and Geraldine Knapp Frezza. She was a 1957 graduate of Carthage Central School and later attended Albany Business School. A marriage to Anthony A. Quinn ended in divorce.

Diane worked for Kodak in Rochester for three years and as a civil service employee her entire career, mainly in the commissary at Fort Drum. She retired in 2000 from the Triple S.C., Troop Supply, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum.

She was an avid bowler, competing in several women’s bowling leagues in Carthage. She was very proud of her sobriety and encouraged many others in their struggles. Diane wrote a column for the Carthage Republican Tribune entitled “Highrise Highlights” for several years.

She is survived by her two sons: Larry J. and Mark A. Quinn, both of Apex, NC, four grandchildren, Alec, Tyler, Hannah and Harlie Quinn, and several nephews. Her son, Francis Jeffrey Quinn and a brother, Raymond Frezza died previous.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. George F. Maroun, Pastor officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours at the Bezanilla-McGraw Funeral Home will be on Friday from 4-7pm.
