The Funeral Mass for Mrs. Frances E. Ferguson, age 99, will be at 11am Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Clayton with Father David DeLuca officiating. Burial will be in old St. Marys Cemetery. Mrs. Ferguson died Monday at Angels Inn in Watertown.
Frances was born November 16th, 1913, in Clayton, the daughter of Milfred and Mildred Cornaire Fraley. She attended schools in St. Loran, Quebec after her mothers death.
On May 11th, 1932, she married Harold Ferguson at St. Marys Church in Clayton. Harold died in 1981.
Frances worked for a time at Cantwells Creamery, Grimaldis Restaurant, Clayton Manufacturing and Warners and Hauns Knitting Mills all in Clayton, retiring in 1974.
She was a former member of the Clayton American Legions Ladies Auxiliary.
Frances enjoyed knitting, bowling and watching sports on television.
Surviving is one son and his wife, Clay and Patricia of Clayton; three daughter and their husbands, Shirley (Phillip) Owens, Carol (Dennis) Rogers all of Clayton and Patricia (Glen) McNeil of North Carolina; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and nieces.
Two sisters died before her, Monica Down and Sister Vera Fraley of the Holy Cross Nuns in Montreal.
