The city Parks and Recreation Department has a new way to offer a workout at lunchtime public skating in the Watertown Municipal Arena at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.
The Lunch and Skate program is held from noon to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is $2 and skate rentals are $2.
Parks staff members noted an hour of ice skating burns 600 calories. Its also a way to stay cool while you work out. The concession stand is open Thursdays and Fridays.
