OFA continues roll vs N-N

Gearing up to meet their second state-ranked opponent in three games OFA rolled away from Norfolk 87-32 in NAC Interdivisional basketball action at home on Friday.

The 11-1 Devils, currently ranked 10th in the New York State Sportswriters Class B Poll, recorded their eighth straight win heading into tonight’s 8 p.m. matchup with Ausable Valley at SUNY Potsdam which was postponed by weather conditions during the Section 10-Section 7 Challenge Series.

Ausable Valley is ranked ninth this week’s NYS Class C Poll.

“Ausable Valley plays extremely hard and they are guard oriented. It will be a good test for us,” said OFA Coach Mark Henry after his Devils followed up a victory over previously unbeaten Malone on Tuesday. “We played a lot of different combinations tonight and Seth Pinkerton really played well.”

Breton LaRose (25 points, 9 rebounds), Colin Ross (14 points, 4 rebounds) and Kinnon LaRose (8 points, 15 rebounds) combined for 27 points and five three-pointers in the Devils’ 36 point fourth quarter.

A strong parade of complementary scoring featured: Pinkerton (8 points, 3 steals), Tyler Knowlton (7 points), Matt Piercey (9 points, 4 assists) and Pat Cosmo (7 points). Jack Manke (4 points) contributed six rebounds and four assists, Connor Hannan passed out six assists and Alex Farrell and Mitchel Barber each chipped in two points. Cody Rust tallied 17 points with a fine inside effort for N-N and Dan Devin netted seven.

The OFA JV’s topped Lisbon 56-22 to stay unbeaten. Tristan Moore scored 11 and Nick Sweeney added eight for the Devils who also received seven from Peyton Lalone, and six each from Dakota Brady and Al Fisher. Donnie Duprey scored nine for LCS. Alex Gravlin and Jordan Carr each tallied four.
