CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - MASSENA - A Massena couple were each charged with criminal mischief during a domestic dispute at their residence Sunday morning.

Village police charged David MacDonald, 30, and Raelynn Barnes, 25, both of 54 Perkins Road, Massena, with fourth-degree criminal mischief.

MacDonald and Barnes provided police with differing views of the incident that took place Sunday morning.

MacDonald said he returned home after staying with a friend for three days, and Barnes locked him out of the residence and threw his clothes outside, including three shirts she had cut up. He said she later allowed him in the residence but kicked and damaged the bathroom door when he was taking a shower, according to court documents.

Barnes said MacDonald had returned home after spending the past few days engaged in activities detrimental to their relationship. She said MacDonald refused her order that he leave the residence and threw and damaged an ashtray, ripped a curtain off a window and damaged some of her makeup when he was at 54 Perkins Road.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS - MASSENA - Village police charged Cory A. Tuper, 27, of 138 Maple St., Massena, with criminal trespass and resisting arrest at 6 a.m. Saturday.

Tuper allegedly blocked the door of his ex-girlfriend’s house and refused to leave. He was highly intoxicated, according to police, and resisted arrest when they arrived.

He was arraigned in local court and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $400.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed William C. Sherman III, 25, of County Route 25, Canton, for speed in zone at 11:10 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on East Hatfield Street.

UNINSPECTED MOTOR VEHICLE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Paul L. Arel Jr., 52, of Massena for operation of an uninspected motor vehicle at 10:45 a.m. Saturday following a traffic on East Orvis Street.

AGGRAVATED UNLICENSED OPERATION - MASSENA - Village police charged Peter J. Shantie, 33, of Massena with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 10:09 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Stoughton near Beach Street. He was also ticketed for illegally passing a red light.

UNINSPECTED MOTOR VEHICLE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Richard M. Worden, 63, of Port Jervis for operation of an uninspected motor vehicle at 12:07 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on South Main Street.
