Ferne M. Bogenschutz


ALEXANDRIA BAY — Ferne M. Bogenschutz, 78, of 45433 Taylor Rd., Alexandria Bay, died January 12th at her home while under the care of her loving family.

Born June 10, 1934 in the town of Alexandria, daughter of Kenneth and Ruby Savage Davis, she graduated from LaFargeville Central School. Ferne worked for Alex Bay Steam Laundry and later for the T. I. International Tourism Council as a mail room specialist, retiring in 1995. A marriage to C. Edward Meyers ended in divorce. She married Paul W. Bogenschutz on May 26, 1977, in Clayton, NY.

Ferne was an avid bowler, and member of national, state and local 600 clubs. She was a member of the USBC Bowling League of Theresa, where she served as past president, vice president, treasurer and sergeant of arms.

Surviving besides her husband Paul, are a daughter, Sue Myers, with whom she resided, a step daughter, Lisa Spink, Central Square, NY, two grandchildren; Michel Williams, and his wife, Jazlyn, California, and Shauna F. Parker and her husband, Glenn Parker; three great-grandchildren; Chloe Williams, and Jesse and Johnathan Parker; two step-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Erick and Lowanda Davis, Yukon, OK and Leon and Barbara Davis, Alexandria Bay and two sisters, Atheda Calhoun, Alexandria Bay and Mrs. Carl (Sue) Felder, of Oklahoma. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kermit and Keith Davis.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
