HOGANSBURG — Lawrence Michael “Larry” Garrow, 39, 148 St. Regis Road, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013, at his home unexpectedly.

Larry was born on April 19, 1973 in Cornwall, Ontario, the son of Sam J. Oakes Jr. and Carol Garrow. He attended Salmon River Central School. He was an avid Yankee fan, and liked trivia, reading and listening to music. When he requested songs on the radio to Teddy Peters, he was known as “Hey Man.” His friends always called him “Larry the Shark.” He was raised by his grandparents, Leonard and Isabel Garrow, and he always enjoyed helping them keep the wood stove going.

Larry is survived by his mother and father; and his maternal grandparents; his uncle Dan Garrow, of Snye, QC; and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Sam and Audrey Oakes, Sr.; and his uncle Jeffery Oakes.

Friends may call Monday, starting at 4 PM until Wednesday at 10 AM, at Kateri Hall, Hogansburg. Funeral service will be Wednesday, at 11 AM at the St. Regis Catholic Church, with Rev. Jerome Pastores, officiating. Cremation will follow.
