CARTHAGE — A Carthage woman was jailed Monday night on $5,000 bail after village arrested her on the Leandra’s Law charge of felony aggravated driving while intoxicated.

Jennifer A. Halko, 34, of 5586 Old State Road, is also charged with endangering the welfare of a child and having an open alcoholic beverage in her vehicle. She was sent to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, by Wilna Town Justice Richard A. Buckingham.

Police reported that she had two youths, ages 8 and 14, when her vehicle was halted shortly after 7 p.m. at Canal and West streets. No information was available about her blood-alcohol level.
