LYONS FALLS — A fire early Wednesday at 4242 Markham St., Lyons Falls, resulted in heavy interior and exterior damage to the home of Michael and Cassandra Klossner.

The fire was reported at 5:51 a.m., when Mrs. Klossner discovered fire around the living room couch area, according to a Lewis County fire report. Four children escaped without injury. Mrs. Klossner was treated for frostbite to her feet. Mr. Klossner was not at home during the fire.

The Lyons Falls Fire Department received mutual aid from the Port Leyden and Constableville departments. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
