HAMMOND A Hammond man stands accused of lying to police about someone forging checks in his name, St. Lawrence County sheriffs deputies said.
William L. DeCarr, 54, of 1701 Route 37, allegedly told deputies that someone forged his name on his checks and then cashed them. Investigation revealed that Mr. DeCarr signed and cashed the checks himself, deputies said.
He was charged with falsely reporting an incident and was issued a ticket to appear in Hammond Town Court.
