PAROLE WARRANT - MASSENA Tapeni J. Labrake, 30, of of Massena was arrested by Massena Village Police at 2:10 a.m. Saturday on a warrant alleging he absconded from parole.
Police said he was found attempting to hide from them at 187 Center St. He was taken to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility and held without bail.
Amanda L. Savage, 25, of 190 Center St., Apt. 4, was charged with obstruction of governmental administration for allegedly attempting to hide LaBrake. She is scheduled to appear in Massena Village Court.
Labrake was sentenced to 1 1/3 to 4 years in state prison in December 2009 following a felony driving while intoxicated conviction in St. Lawrence County Court, but he was released under parole supervision after completing a six-month substance abuse treatment program at the Willard Correctional Facility. He was last back to prison for a parole violation from Aug. 17 to Dec. 4. The maximum expiration date of his sentence is Sept. 9, 2013, according to the states Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.
