City police charged Cortney L. Tanner, 19, of 1144 Gill St., with possessing heroin and hypodermic needles after she was stopped Friday evening.

Police said Ms. Tanner had four needles on her when she was stopped at 100 Mullin St., where she was charged at 11:10 p.m. Friday. A small plastic wrapper containing heroin was found in her purse.

She was held on $500 bail at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending an appearance in City Court.
