Erdman, Springs lead frozen foote


CANTON - Over 160 runners and walkers from Northern New York and Southeastern Ontario enjoyed warm temperatures and clear roads for the second installment of the 2012-13 Frozen Foot Series.

Gouverneur’s Jake Erdman led the field from the Boys Youth Division with a time of 23:00. Shawn Spriggs was second in 23:55 and Mike Fowler placed third in 24:29.

Kristen Betrus was the first female finisher, completing the four mile course in 25:51. Suna Stone-McMasters was second in 26:27, followed by Shondel Boyden in 27:34.


Men’s Open: Mike Fowler 24:29, Dan Romlein 27:16, Evan Price 27:55.

Women’s Open: Leslie Whitton 30:41, , Michelle Coloney 30:49, Amy Smith 31:05.

Men’s 30-39: Shawn Spriggs 23:55, Chad Colbert 24:42, Roy Porter 26:18.

Women’s 30-39: Kristen Betrus 25:51, Katie Kennedy 28:24, Jacqueline Danis 29:17.
