Melissa Ellen Garwol and Joseph Nelson Ramie, both of Port St. Lucie, Fla., announce their engagement.

Miss Garwol, daughter of Michael and Patricia Garwol, Rochester, is a fourth-grade teacher for St. Lucie County schools.

Mr. Ramie, son of Susan Bartlett, Norwood, and Joseph P. Ramie, Lisbon, graduated in 2002 from Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Norwood, and in 2004 from SUNY Canton. He is employed at Home Depot, Port St. Lucie.

A Sept. 1 wedding is planned.
