OGDENSBURG - One rally overcame another on Monday night as OFA generated a 4-2 NAC Division II win at home over Franklin Academy in the only high school sports action to survive a winter storm that blanketed the North Country.
The host Blue Devils (8-4-2, 8-2-1) opened the scoring when Brandon Mullin finished off a play set up by Gian Rufe at 8:59 of the first period. The Huskies (7-8-1, 3-7-1) battled back to take the lead with a pair of unanswered second period goals by Tucker Bartenslager and Kelsey Head but the Devils took control of the game with three straight goals as Mullin tied the game then tallied the eventual game-winner to complete his natural hattrick. Burke Comeau sealed the win when he scored with 5:00 left in regulation.
David Prudhomme turned aside 23 shots backstopping the win while Joey Brown, an eighth-grader, kept the Huskies in the game with a stellar 39-save performance.
