GOUVERNEUR – Eva M. LaRock, age 86, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013 at the United Helpers Maplewood Nursing Home in Canton.

Calling hours will be at French Funeral Home, Gouverneur on Thursday, from 6 – 8 p.m. Her funeral service will be on Friday, February 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Warrington officiating. Burial will follow in the East Riverside Cemetery.

Eva was born on June 30, 1926 in Gouverneur to the late William J. and Minnie May (Peck) Klock. She attended various area country schools and married Lowell F. LaRock on October 21, 1945 at the Gouverneur Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Thomas officiating. Mr. LaRock passed away on October 8, 2005.

Mrs. LaRock enjoyed working on puzzles, going for walks and reading. She also liked working in her flower garden and loved to dance.

Her survivors include two sons and their wives, Reginald W. (Delores) LaRock of Gouverneur; Gary L. (Tana) LaRock of Madisonville, KY; a daughter and her husband, Donna M. (Roy) Skelton of Dunedin, FL; and two sisters, Gladys (Bernard) O’Leary of Lisbon and Betty Nero of Hudson, NY. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and her nieces and nephews.

Eva is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Lowell; a son, Dwayne Arthur who died in 1963; and her brothers, Milton, Kenneth, Charles, Earl and Lloyd.
