Massena Central ran past Gouverneur while Potsdam fell short to OFA in NAC Central Division varsity boys basketball matchups on Tuesday.
Massena 76, Gouverneur 54: On Retro Night at the Massena high school gym, the Raiders steadily pulled away from a 23-14 first-quarter lead. Zack Rusaw led a balanced Massena offense that saw 11 players shoot their way into the scorebook with 15 points. Joey LaBelle netted three three-pointers in a 13-point outing. Zevon Viskovich and Rhoades Tarbell each finished with eight points followed by Tyler Haas with five. Robert Cameron and Logan Deshane chipped in four points apiece. David Phillips chipped in three while Rory Corcoran and Zach Fregoe closed out the Raider scoresheet with two points each.

The Raiders (9-6, 6-3) will now get set to host the Central Division leading Blue Devils on Friday starting with the JV contest at 5:30 p.m. The game will be part of the Massena Athletes Fight Cancer series with all the proceed going toward helping to combat the disease the local level. All those attending are asked to wear pink to show support for the cause.
OFA 49, Potsdam 34: In Ogdensburg, the visiting Sandstoners managed to dictate the tempo and they managed to outscore the state-ranked Blue Devils 4-2 in three-pointers in a duel of intense physical halfcourt matchup. But the superior game management of guards Pat Cosmo and Matt Piercey and a timely fourth quarter spark by reserve forward Tyler Knowlton carried the Devils to the victory and regular season sweep over Potsdam.
Piercey (4 assists) tallied 11 first-half points keying a 26-16 lead, Cosmo (4 rebounds) used creative pull-up jumpers in the lane to score 13 points in the second half and Knowlton coverted an offensive rebound and a layup off a backdoor cut sparking a pull-away from a 39-29 lead in the final four minutes.
Potsdam (4-5 NAC, 9-5), which gained a reversal over Massena in its last division game, received 13 points from center Shawn Clark and 12 points from Will Coleman who buried a pair of threes along with Nick Vaccaro, who finished with six points. Thomas Hobbs and Owen Mitchell rounded out the scoring with two and one point.
Breton LaRose also tallied 13 points complemented by seven rebounds and three blocks in the winning effort. Kinnon LaRose added six points, seven rebounds and four assists and Colin Ross chipped in two points.
Franklin Academy 88, Canton 48: In Malone, the host Huskies (14-1, 9-1) surged their way to a 37-10 halftime lead then outscored the Bears 30-16 in the third quarter to put the other Central Division game of the night out of reach.
Nate Monette led FA with 16 points. Mitch Gallagher and Austin Lamay each netted 14 followed by Connor Dailey and Harvey Smith with nine apiece.
Charles Ames paced Canton (6-10, 3-7) with 14 points. Bryant Wentworth chipped in eight followed by Nick Archibald with eight and Evan LaPoint with six.
C-P 82, P-H 31: In Parishville, the visiting Colts (7-8, 4-5) ran out to a 21-4 lead by the end of the first quarter the put the game out of reach with a 17-3 second-quarter run in the lone East Division game of the night.
Patrick Martin tossed through a game-high 19 points in the winning effort. Gyle Dominy netted another 18 followed by Zach Farr with 14, Ethan Knight with 11, Bruce Avery with nine, Jake Angleberger with seven and Riley Doyle with four.
Ryan Snyder paced the Panthers (0-11, 0-9) with 12 points. Mike Burns chipped in eight. Tanner Wilson and Joe Curtis finished with four points apiece followed by David Eames with two and Mike Cook with one.
The only interdivisional contest on Tuesday saw St. Regis Falls continue its breakthrough season by turning back defending Section 10 Class D champion Madrid-Waddington 56-42.
Brandon Votra fired through a game-high 23 points tas the Saints (15-1, 9-1) steadily overcame a 9-7 first-quarter deficit. Caleb Green struck for another 20 points. Tyler Dagget contributed five. Corey LaBounty and Louis Goodrow each netted four while Ryan Duquette accounted for the other two.
For M-W (10-6, 5-5), Greg Thompson led the way with nine points. Richard Wright and Dillan Putney chipped in eight apiece. Maurice Rease and Colin OBryan each finished with six followed by Jacob Barney with three and Terry Crump with two.
In the West Division games on Tuesday, Heuvelton outscored Morristown 61-48, Edwards-Knox humbled Hammond 60-7, Harrisville beat Clifton-Fine 64-34 and Lisbon stopped Hermon-DeKalb 63-35.
